Woman leads deputies on late night chase

At approximately 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, a patrol deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated partially in the wrong lane of traffic on Hwy. 64 in the town of Pine River, east of the city of Merrill. The vehicle failed to stop and eventually actively fled from the deputy.

A pursuit ensued, in which the suspect vehicle traveled westbound through the city of Merrill. Another deputy was able to deploy a tire deflation device in the city of Merrill. All four tires were deflated, however the operator of the vehicle still failed to stop. Eventually the suspect led the pursuit northbound out of the city of Merrill and into the town of Merrill. The suspect turned down a dead end road, then turned back around and rammed another deputy’s squad car head on, which effectively ended the pursuit.

The 31-year-old female suspect from Lily (Langlade County) was taken into custody for numerous criminal charges, including second offense OWI, felony fleeing, resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and several outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions.
