The public is invited to attend the grand opening of Nortrax, a division of John Deere, to the Merrill community on Friday, Aug. 18. They are located at 601 S. Pine Ridge Ave. in Merrill (behind Walmart). Nortrax has invested more than $5 million into the new facility and has a day filled with activities.
The grand opening begins at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce with comments from Mayor Bill Bialecki and Nortrax and John Deere officials.
Lunch will be offered from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Building tours and live demonstrations will take place featuring four-wheel drive loaders, excavators, motor graders, dozers and forestry machines. There will also be technology demonstrations – see the latest and greatest advances in computer technology capable of detecting and correcting problems from remote locations.
A door prize drawing will be held at 3 p.m. and the event closes at 4 p.m.
