June R. Wais, age 92, of Merrill, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
June was born June 5, 1924, in Merrill, daughter of the late Paul and Laura (Kleinschmidt) Brandenburg. She married Lorenz ‘Tarz’ Wais on November 1, 1947, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2006. June was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her card club, and following the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. June was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill, and was also a member of the Altar Guild of the church.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Jim) Sheridan, Merrill; three sons, Steve (Diane) Wais, Merrill, John (Barb) Wais, Merrill, and Larry Wais, Delafield; six grandchildren, Meghan (Tom) Barker, Erin (Darrin) Kuehn, Molly (Jason) Sanders, Brianne (Paul) Weix, Amy (Jon) Parkes, and Jeff (BreAnne) Wais; fourteen great grandchildren, Olivia and Madeline Barker; Jackson, Julian, Ruby, Jesse, and Liberty Kuehn; Jacob Sanders; Claire and Lawson Weix; Quinn and Stella Parkes; Micah and Eli Wais; and one on the way in the Sanders family; one aunt, Eleanor Langhoff, Eugene, Oregon; and two sister in laws, Caroline Froehlich, Merrill, and Margaret Hypes, California; and many cousins.
The funeral will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 12, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. David Szeto will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Monday, December 12th at the church.
