Helen R. Frederick, 83, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Helen was born October 13, 1933, in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude (Wengeler) Frederick. Helen attended Merrill High School and graduated with the class of 1951. She went on to work at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, the former House of Merrill, and the former Ward Paper Company. She also was a hostess at Club 64 in Merrill. Helen belonged to the Hattitudes II Red Hat group in Merrill and loved to travel.
Helen was a church organist for 60 years. She started at the age of 14 at the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Scott. She also served as the organist at Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Berlin, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Naugart, and Grace Lutheran Church in the Town of Maine. Helen loved serving the Lord with music. She played for many weddings and funerals. She also played for a Pastors convention and several German services.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Harlan Storm of Merrill; and several dear friends and cousins. Helen was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Frederick; her mother, Gertrude Frederick Kleinschmidt; her step-father, Edwin Kleinschmidt; her brother, James Kleinschmidt; her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Jerry Gruling; her dear and lifelong friend, Mary Ann Zastrow; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral service for Helen will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Berlin. The Rev. Jeffrey Schmidt will officiate. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting with arrangements.
