Merrill Police reports

October 24
8:16 p.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle on Pine Ridge Avenue. The operator was cited for Operating After Suspension. They were also arrested and transported to the jail for a Probation Violation.

October 25
2 p.m.- The school resource officer took a report of a theft that occurred in the 1200 block of North Sales Street. The suspect was identified and admitted to taking the food item. He was cited for theft and also had restitution applied to the citation amount.

October 26
7:50 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
10:30 a.m.- Taylor County Sheriff’s Office requested Merrill officers attempt to locate a male who had 10 felony theft warrants through their agency. The man was located at his place of employment and arrested for those warrants. He was turned over to Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.
3:20 p.m.- Probation & Parole requested an officer accompany them to the residence of a probationer. The probationer was found to have been drinking in violation of his rules and was arrested for the probation violation.
3:56 p.m.- A caller reported three days prior they had stopped at a Merrill restaurant. During their stop someone had stolen a chest off a trailer in the parking lot. They stated Merrill was the only place the theft could have occurred.
4:21 p.m.- A caller reported someone had stolen a boat motor off their porch.

October 27
9:36 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
12:09 p.m.- A mother reported her 17-year-old son had stolen money from her purse which he then used to purchase cigarettes. She requested he be cited as he has stolen from her in the past as well. The son admitted to the theft and was cited for theft.
12:52 p.m.- A business reported a car trailer was stolen from their property within the past two days.
11:02 p.m.- Officers stopped a vehicle leaving a residence after finding a male who had warrants was inside. The man was arrested for the warrants.
