Trivia Night at History & Culture Center

Merrill Historical Society is hosting a Trivia Contest on Saturday evening, Nov. 5, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the contest beginning promptly at 6 p.m. All proceeds from the evening go to support activities of the Merrill Historical Society.

Tables, which seat teams of six, are available for $120. A smaller team is allowed, but the price of a table remains $120. This year the contest will be limited to the first 15 teams who reserve a table. The first six teams who register in person will get to select a trivia category, from a pre-approved list, that they would like to have as part of the contest. Teams may register at the Merrill History & Culture Center during regular office hours.

The Trivia Contest will consist of eight rounds of 10 questions each. Possible categories include Movie Quotes, Looking Up, Wisconsin Agriculture, Nicknames, Local History, My Last Name Is, U.S. Citizenship, Rules of the Road, Local Sports Legends, and Wisconsin Geography. The winning team will receive a substantial cash prize while the team with the lowest score will get to wear dunce caps.

Besides trivia, there will be raffle prize baskets, two 50/50 raffles, and a prize for Best Team Costume.
Teams are encouraged to bring their own food and soft drinks, and get set up when the doors open at 5 p.m. Beer and wine will be available on site for those who wish to purchase. Cell phones and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the contest room. Each team will receive a complete set of rules when they register.

If you or your organization or business would like to donate items to be included in the prize baskets or donate money to help with expenses, please leave a message at the Historical Society office for Tom Burg.
