Two State Fire Marshals were on the scene early Tuesday afternoon investigating the burnt ruins of the barn and house, located in northwestern Langlade County on Hwy. H in the town of Summit. Town of Russell fire personnel, located in adjacent Lincoln County, were the first ones to report to the blaze followed by Langlade County deputies.

According to sheriff reports submitted on Tuesday morning, a 911 call was received last night from a family member reporting that an occupant at the house started a fire and was suicidal.

The Langlade County Sheriff’s Office is currently awaiting the results of an autopsy and arson investigation.
