September 26
8:01 a.m.- A male was arrested for an active arrest warrant during a traffic stop on State Street near 3rd Street.

4:03 p.m.- An officer investigated a property damage complaint on Pier Street. The investigation is ongoing.

2:33 p.m.- A citizen brought a large glass vial filled with liquid into the PD in an attempt to identify what it was and what to do with it. The citizen suspected it may be tear gas. The vial was found on the back of a large old safe door. After some research the officer identified the liquid as Chlorpicrin, a chemical weapon used in World War I and similar to tear gas. It was also used as a theft deterrent on the inside of large safe doors. If a burglar attempted to break into the safe, it would activate this chemical irritant. Arrangements were made for the Marathon County Bomb Squad to dispose of the liquid.

September 27
12:50 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of East First Street to take a female subject into custody on a probation hold. The female subject was taken into custody and transported to the jail.

6:20 p.m.- An officer took a report of charges on an individual’s credit card which were not authorized. The investigation is ongoing.

7:35 p.m.- An officer responded to a local business for a retail theft complaint. The suspect was located and issued a citation for theft.

8:23 p.m.- Officers responded to the 1800 block of East Main Street to attempt to locate a male subject that had a warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole. The male subject was located and taken into custody on the warrant.

10:40 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to West Third Street in the area of Liberty Street for a report of a male subject that was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The male subject was located leaning up against a light pole in the area. As the officer approached the male subject, he poured the contents of a beer bottle onto the ground. The male subject was cited for possession of open intoxicants in public.
While an officer was securing the parks for the evening, he located damage to the bathrooms at Otts Park and Kitchenette Park. The investigation is ongoing.

September 28
1:29 p.m.- A caller reported that someone had tampered with their mail that was left out for the mail carrier. The caller stated that some of their mail had been opened and some money was removed. The investigation is ongoing.

4:20 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to the 1000 Block of East 1st Street to take a male subject into custody on a probation hold. The male was taken into custody and was transported to the Lincoln County jail.

September 29
11:05 a.m.- A caller reported a highly intoxicated person leaving a business. The vehicle was located a short distance away and the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

6:16 p.m.- A caller reported a man was walking in a park striking himself in the head with a rock. It was reported he had possibly knocked himself out at one point as he had fallen to the ground. Officers were unable to locate the man.
