Tomahawk makes splash at Jaguar invite

The Hatchet swimmers traveled to Ashwaubenon on Friday to participate in the Jaguar Invite. It was a great invite, as many of the Hatchets set personal bests and/or received medals.

The Hatchet A-Team placed third in the 200-yard medley relay with a combined team time of 1:57.65. The team consisted of Megan Marcks (29.65), Kirstin Marcks (34.59), Katy Volz (26.88) and Shelby Benaszeski (26.53).

Kylee Theiler placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.15 and Rachel Dallman placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.09 seconds. Dallman also placed seventh in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.07 seconds and Benaszeski was right behind her in eighth place with a time of 58.99 seconds.

The Hatchet A-Team placed third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a combined team time of 1:45.20. The team consisted of Volz (26.17), Benaszeski (26.53), Theiler (26.55) and Dallman (25.95). Theiler also placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:41.74.

Volz placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.57 and Megan Marcks was right behind her in sixth place with a time of 1:05.44. Kirstin Marcks placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.95.

Last but not least, the Hatchet A-Team placed fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a combined team time of 3:54.24. The team consisted of Theiler (59.28), Megan Marcks (1:00.13), Volz (56.60) and Dallman (58.23).

There were personal bests by Katy Volz, Savannah Ristau and Vianna Johnson, and great top eight finishes by Dallman, K. Marcks, M. Marcks, Volz, Theiler and Benaszeski.

Kirstin & Megan Marcks, Volz and Benaszeski won medals in the medley relay and Volz, Theiler, Benaszeski, and Dallman won medals in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
