Social Security, retirement income program at library

Learn about “Strategies for Social Security & Retirement Income” from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 in the Community Room of T.B. Scott Free Library in Merrill.

This class is designed to help retirees achieve their most important goal — to not run out of money — by learning the basics about Social Security and anticipating your retirement income situation.
You’ll get educated about the various methods of filing for Social Security and find out how benefits are calculated and taxed, so you can optimize your Social Security benefits. Then, you’ll learn about one method to systematically plan for your overall retirement income needs, and then be shown options on how to structure your income in retirement.

Retirement Classroom programs, like all programs at T.B. Scott Free Library, are open to the public at no charge.

The next Retirement Classroom presentations will be “Getting To Know Medicare” on Wednesday, Oct. 19 and “Planning for Nursing Care & Final Expenses” on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
