Mary E. Hinch

Mary E. Hinch, age 92, passed away peacefully at the Manor at Hamlet Village in Chagrin Falls, OH on Monday, Sept. 5, 2016.

Mary was born, the second oldest of five children, on Feb. 19, 1924 to the late William M. & Gertrude Heimberger in Chicago, IL.  She graduated from Carl Schurz High School, Chicago, IL in 1941.
Always fiercely independent and determined to be self-sufficient, she worked for a number of years for the Kennedy/Shriver family at the Mart in Chicago.  During that time, she met the love of her life, the late Ray F. Hinch, and they married in 1956. Together, they owned and operated numerous businesses, including Advance Woodworking Corporation & Advance Awnnair Corporation, both in Chicago, IL.
In 1968, new business venture led the couple and their young son Ray Jr. to Merrill, WI. There they ran WCA, a woodworking facility with corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL.  A “city girl” thru & thru with her mink coat & black Chrysler Lebaron with white leather, Mary ended up loving Merrill & northern Wisconsin.  Whether thru business, boating, bowling, golfing, snowmobiling, bridge playing, Meals on Wheels, Rotary, Lions, Elks, hospital auxiliary, church functions for St. Francis, etc., she was passionate about keeping busy with her involvement in the community. When her beloved husband Ray passed in the winter of 1991, Mary pursued her passion for travel, taking many trips around the world with good friends.
In 2006, she relocated to Chagrin Falls, OH to be closer to her family.  There she enjoyed watching her three grandkids grow into young adults, as family was always her most treasured accomplishment.
She struggled the last few years of her life with advanced dementia, resulting in her move to the Manor at Hamlet Village.
Mary is survived by her loving son & daughter in law:  Ray, Jr. & Bonnie Hinch, loving grandchildren:  Ray A., Katherine E. & Robert J., brother James B. Heimberger & numerous nieces & nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband Ray F. Hinch, parents:  William M. & Gertrude Heimberger, siblings: William H. Heimberger, Donald J. Hemiberger & Margaret L. Sumonka.
Mary was buried during a private ceremony on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 next to her husband Ray at the Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
The family will host an event to celebrate her life in Chagrin Falls, OH later this month.
