Update: Victim identity released from fatal ATV crash

Monday afternoon, authorities released the name of the 57-year old man who was fatally injured during an ATV rollover crash near Tomahawk on Friday afternoon.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, 57-year old Thomas E. Radenz of Mosinee was the sole operator of an ATV which was traveling west on Newood Road-west of CTH O- when the ATV left the roadway and struck a colvert, causing the Radenz to be ejected from the ATV.

The Lincoln County 911 Communications Center received report of the crash at approximately 4:43 PM Saturday, prompting response from Tomahawk EMS and the Tomahawk Fire Department, as well as deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and a DNR Conservation Warden.
Radenz was transported to Ministry-Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk where he was later pronounced dead. Radenz was wearing a helmet and no passengers were reported to have been accompanying Radenz at the time of the crash.
Alcohol may have been a factor.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin DNR.
