Police notify community of sex offender’s release

The Merrill Police Department is notifying the community of the release of a convicted sex offender to Lincoln County.

Louis Bosinske, 78, will be released to Community Supervision administered by the WI Department of Corrections. He is not wanted by the police at this time.

Sex Offenders have always lived in our communities; but is was not until the WI Sex Offender Registry and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the community.

Bosinske was convicted in Lincoln County in 2005 of second degree sexual assault. He was subsequently convicted in Lincoln County in 2007 of third degree sexual assault. In both cases, Bosinske sexually assaulted two adult female acquaintances.

Bosinske will be released in June 7, 2016, back to Lincoln County, which was his county of residence at the time of his conviction. Bosinske will be on supervision with the WI Department of Corrections until May 17, 2023. Upon release, Bosinske will be placed on Intensive Supervision, and will be subject to the WI Department of Corrections Global Positioning System (GPS). He will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program. The WI Sex Offender Registry can be located at www.widocoffenders.org.

If you have concerns or questions regarding Bosinske, please contact the Merrill Police Department at 715-536-8311.
