Merrill Police reports

May 16
9:50 a.m.- An officer responded to a vehicle versus bicycle crash. It was determined both the bicyclist and vehicle driver were at fault. Both were cited for the violations.

3:33 p.m.- An officer responded to a burglary complaint. The caller stated a rototiller was taken from the back yard and the house had been entered and numerous items were stolen. The rototiller was found to have been pawned and has been returned to the owner. A suspect has been identified.

May 18
4:41 p.m.- Officers responded to a drug activity complaint. The caller advised her roommate and a female party were using narcotics inside of her residence. Contact was made with the male and female and they admitted to using narcotics and turned over the drug paraphernalia to officers. It was also determined that the female brought narcotics over to the residence. The male party was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female was arrested for delivery of methamphetamine.

May 20
4:53 p.m.- Officers responded to a domestic incident. When the officers arrived on scene, a male and female were having a verbal argument in the street. The parties were separated and spoken to. The male party had bite marks, scrapes, scratches, and advised he had been punched and kicked in the groin by the female. After an investigation, the female was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

May 21
7:18 p.m.- An officer responded to a shoplifting complaint. A male party had stolen a television that was on display in the store. Investigation is ongoing.

10:37 p.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. The victim had a purse stolen out of their unlocked vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

May 22
9:30 a.m.- An officer responded to a hazardous situation complaint. The caller stated a group of juveniles on bicycles are riding fast through stop signs and the caller was afraid they may be struck by a car that does not see them. Contact was made with the juveniles and they were spoken to about safe bicycle operation.
