Quotes/AOW

“…this was by far our best team performance of the season. Our athletes stepped it up and worked hard in ‘less than ideal’ conditions to put team points on the board. Our boys scored in every event and our girls placed in all but two events. The boys were rewarded with their highest team finish in a large invite this season with a second place effort.”

“…what we continue to see is that we are picking up more points in events that were void for us in the early part of the season and that those athletes are gaining confidence in the process. We will need to build on that at tournament time if we are to continue to have success individually and as a team.”

“…going into the conference meet we feel that we were in a great position to make an improvement on our placement from the last two seasons for the boys, however a mishap in practice on Thursday in the vault with Mason Webster put him out for the remainder of the season. He is our top scoring athlete and an integral part of two relays. His contributions will be greatly missed. We will challenge our remaining athletes to step it up on Tuesday.”

“…Brittany Jashinsky has been showing steady improvement all season in the hurdles and her persistency paid off as she cracked the one minute barrier for the first time this season in the lows with her highest individual placement of the year. She is a relative newcomer to the sport, but her willingness to learn and work hard has quickly turned her into a contributing veteran. She has a bright future with her positive attitude and she will continue to improve in all of her events.”

“…Lucas Tjugum scored in the challenging ‘distance double’ (the 1600/3200 combo) and was one of the reasons that we were able to stay in front of Three Lakes and hold on to the runner-up position. Lucas is an excellent role model with his quiet and cooperative approach to practices and it carries over to his racing. He is able to stay focused and handle whatever we throw at him.”
