The Hatchet varsity golf team hit the links at Bass Lake Golf Course yesterday, facing off against the GNC teams. It was a tight contest for the middle spots, with most teams only a stroke higher or lower than the others.
The final team scores were Medford (330), Antigo (354), Rhinelander (355), Lakeland (356), Tomahawk (357), Northland Pines (375) and Mosinee (391). Tomahawk scorers include Mike Lodholz (42-41=83), Andy Tessmer (47-40=87), Andrew Cook (45-46=91), Michelle Lodholz (48-48=96) and Ty Gerstenberger (57-48=105).
“We played well today, but just came up a few strokes short of second place,” comments head coach Garth Gerstenberger. “Mike Lodholz had 6 pars and 2 birdies in route to a 4th place individual performance. Andy Tessmer started out hot with a birdie and a par on the first two holes. I was very happy with the way our seniors played today. Our other golfers showed stretches of playing well, but need to become a little more consistent. As a team we putted very well on always true Bass Lake greens.”
