Vicky L. Erickson

Vicky L. Erickson, age 46, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, died unexpectedly of a massive pulmonary embolism on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill. She was born on March 20, 1970 in Merrill, to John and Barbara (Potter) Erickson.

Vicky attended and graduated from Merrill High School. She was employed for the last 6 years by Englewood Orthopedics in New Jersey. Vicky was a nanny for 21 years, which she spent with the Anne Miller-Breslow family, who were very special to her. Vicky loved her dog, “Buddy” and her family, especially her mother and father, but all were very important to her. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City by the shore and always came back to Merrill to visit once she moved to New Jersey. Vicky was a giving person who enjoyed making people happy. She was confirmed and baptized at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, where she was still a member.

Survivors include her German Shepherd dog of 3 years: “Buddy”; parents: John and Barbara Erickson, Merrill; two brothers: John (Lori) Erickson Jr., Merrill, and Brien (Amy) Erickson, Columbus, OH; one sister: Lana (Todd) Woller, Pleasant Prairie, WI; best friends: Amy and Wanda; two uncles: Orea (special friend Delores) Erickson, and Arlo Erickson; three aunts: Susie Pergande, Carol (John) Miller, and Corrine (late husband, Eddie) Bennett; she adored her nieces and nephews: Josh, Melanie, Becky, John, Diana, Aaron, Michael and Marshall, and 6 great nieces and nephews; and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, brother: Todd Michael Erickson, aunt: Lorna Gorman, uncles: Derald Erickson and Glenn Goodwin, and beloved dog, “Jimmy” whom she will be buried with.

A Memorial Service for Vicky will be held at 6 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Waid Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Cresswell will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 PM until the time of service also at the funeral home. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
