No timelines set in MAPS administrator probe

Two Merrill Area Public Schools administrators remain on paid administrative leave as the Board of Education continues to look into the matter. The board held a closed session discussion Wednesday night, but no resolution came out of it, noted board president Jen Seliger.

“The investigation is being continued and no timelines are set at this point in time,” Seliger said Friday. “I will try to keep the media updated the best I am able as information comes available.”

MAPS Superintendent Wally Leipart and Director of Curriculum and Instruction Michele Jahnke were both placed on administrative leave Tuesday. There has been no indication from the district on the reasons, or whether the suspensions are related.

Director of Pupil Services/Special Education John Sample has been named interim superintendent.
