Lincoln County Corrections Officer Nathan Peterson was recently bestowed an award by the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office and Nicolet Technical College for his superior performance while attending intensive correctional officer training at the Nicolet Technical College in Rhinelander.
Peterson was selected by his peers for the Partner Award, meaning all the candidates in training voted that Peterson displayed the skills and judgment which would make them want to partner with him in the correctional setting. Vilas County Sheriff Joe Fath, who presided over the graduation ceremonies, presented Peterson with the award, the first presented to a Lincoln County Correctional Officer.
Sheriff Jeff Jaeger has awarded Peterson his agency’s Sheriff’s Recognition Award for his efforts.
“Nate’s actions at his certification training came as no surprise to me or my staff. His professional conduct and dedication to his fellow COs emulates the character we expect and enjoy from our employees. I am delighted that Nate is a member of my staff,” said Jaeger.
Peterson works the night shift in the jail which houses on average 132 inmates per day.
