Thursday’s ceremony at Pine Crest Nursing Home capped off a week of efforts by Ret. US Army Colonel and Merrill resident Paul Russell, as well as VFW Post 1638, in honoring well-deserving local veterans. Monday’s and Thursday’s ceremonies lasted approximately 90 minutes and recognized 19 veterans from WWII, Vietnam, Korea and Iraq.
