Schnabl earns Eagle Scout rank

Aaron Schnabl of Boy Scout Troop 599 earned his Eagle Scout rank on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015. Aaron’s Eagle Project centered on organizing and coordinating the construction of a softball shelter at the Merrill Area Recreation Center on behalf of the Merrill Softball Association. The success of this project would not have been possible without the help and guidance from the leaders of Troop 599; Noel Bushor of the Merrill Softball Association; Troop 599 Committee Chair Kristin Woller; his Scout Masters, Gene Pfantz, Dave Schult and Jared DeJong; and the Scouts and friends of Troop 599. His Life to Eagle Coach was Jason Stadler. Aaron’s Eagle Board of Review consisted of: John Breitwisch, Kristin Woller, Wendy Johnson, Jason Stadler, Dave Schult and Jerry Hersil.

Aaron has earned 25 merit badges. He has served his Troop as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Web Master, Troop Guide, and two terms as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. He attended National Youth Leadership Training at Hanna Venture Base in June 2013. Aaron was elected to the Order of the Arrow on July 30, 2014 and obtained his Brotherhood in July 2015. He attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference, Samoset Contingent, in June 2015, held in Lansing, Mich.

Aaron is the son of Brad and Leanne Schnabl, Merrill. He is a sophomore at Merrill Senior High School where he participates in Junior Varsity Soccer. Aaron is a member of Saint Stephens United Church of Christ in Merrill. Boy Scout Troop 599 is chartered by St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill.
