Merrill Police reports

February 29
12:45 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation and taken to the jail.
10:50 p.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle on West Main Street. The driver had an active arrest warrant and was taken to jail.
March 1
12:05 a.m.- Officers received information about a hit and run crash on East Main Street. As a result, the operator of the hit and run vehicle was located. He was cited for numerous violations and was arrested on a Probation Violation.
March 2
4:33 p.m.- An officer was dispatched to a complaint of a male party stumbling while walking by the skate park bridge. Contact was made with the male party who was intoxicated but also appeared to be having a medical issue. An ambulance was called for the male party to be evaluated. The male was on a no drink bond restriction and the information is being forwarded to the District Attorney.
7:48 p.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. A bandsaw and a woodworking table were stolen from a garage. Officer made contact with family of the previous tenant of the property and the items were removed on accident as they thought it was theirs. The items are being returned to the owner.
March 3
1:08 p.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. A store employee stopped a male party who had concealed a bottle of wine in his clothing and was attempting to leave the store. The male party gave the bottle of wine back and then fled from the store on foot. Investigation is ongoing for identification of the male party.
