The Merrill Area Public Schools is confirming that Kurt Soderberg, Merrill High School Boys’ Varsity Basketball Coach, has resigned from his role as Boys’ Basketball Coach effective at the conclusion of the current season. The District and Mr. Soderberg have mutually agreed it would be in the best interest of the district and the boys’ basketball program to accept his resignation at this time.
“The District appreciates the many positive results of Mr. Soderberg’s nine years of service to the high school and youth basketball programs,” MAPS Superintendent Wally Leipart started. “Mr. Soderberg will continue in his role as associate principal and we look forward to working with him in this capacity.
“We want to assure our athletes, students, parents and community that we have total confidence that we can bring in a new coach to prepare our student athletes to be a successful program moving forward.”
