Kalin R. Prentice-21 of Merrill, appeared February 17th in Lincoln County Circuit Court and was charged with a Felony count of Theft-Movable Property >$2500-$5000.
According to court records, during a period spanning from December 23, 2015 to January 25, 2016, Prentice was reportedly observed on several occasions removing cash from cash bags assigned to various registers at her place of employment. Prentice reportedly placed the cash in her pocket. Prentice also allegedly transferred high dollar amounts to various check cards.
According to a police report from the Merrill Police Department, Prentice was observed by store surveillance pocketing cash amounts as high as $200 on one occasion and adding as much as $500 to a check card on a separate occasion. Total damages reported by Prentice’s employer amounted to $3,115.74 .
