Merrill Police Reports

February 5
12:09 p.m.- An officer took a report of a theft of money from an unlocked locker in the 1200 block of Sales Street.
2:01 p.m.- An officer responded to a South Pine Ridge Avenue business after two individuals were caught by staff shoplifting. The two individuals were cited for retail theft.
8:10 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East Main Street for a report of a male youth that was yelling at other youths and claiming to have alcohol. The youth was located and was found to have been drinking. He was cited for underage drinking and released to a parent.
February 6
1:55 a.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop on East Main Street for an equipment violation as well as the registered owner of the vehicle having a revoked driving status. During the course of the stop, two female passengers advised that they did not have any identification on them and verbally identified themselves. The one female was found to have provided the name and identifying information for her sister and the other provided a fictitious name and date of birth. The one female was arrested for probation warrants as well as misappropriation of identity, and the other female was arrested for obstructing an officer. During the course of the stop, items of drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. The one female attempted to conceal items of drug paraphernalia which was located when she arrived at the jail. The male operator of the vehicle was cited for operating after revocation and also arrested for a probation violation.
12:25 p.m.- Officers were at a residence and located a male subject that had active warrants for his arrest. It was found that a female subject was intentionally concealing the male subject in the residence. Both individuals were taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, officers located drugs and other items of drug paraphernalia in plain view. That investigation is ongoing.
9:37 p.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation as well as the registration of the vehicle being suspended for unpaid parking tickets. The operator of the vehicle was found to have a revoked driving status and was also on probation. The male subject was taken into custody for a probation violation. It was also found that the male subject had been drinking and open intoxicants were located in the vehicle. Officers also located a glass methamphetamine pipe as well as a small amount of methamphetamine. The male subject was taken to the jail on the probation hold as well as charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
February 8
8:24 a.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. This was an internal theft from the business and the employee was arrested for the theft.
February 9
12:36 p.m.- An officer responded to stolen vehicle complaint. The caller advised their vehicle was parked in the driveway and was now gone. The caller believed it was their juvenile child who may have taken the vehicle. The vehicle and juvenile suspect were located in the high school parking lot. The juvenile was taken home and charges will be forwarded to social services.
11:32 p.m.- An officer observed a highly intoxicated male party outside of a closed tavern, who was dropped off there by the taxi. The male party appeared to be urinating outside of the business. Contact was made with the male party who became loud and vulgar with officers. He was going to be provided a safe ride home due to his level of intoxication and the inclement weather. The male was given a ride to an address he gave officers, but no longer resided at. The male continued to be loud and vulgar and was spitting inside the squad car. The male was arrested for disorderly conduct.
February 10
7:19 p.m.- An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint at Hardeeā€™s between two employees. The responding officer arrived at the location and while speaking with the suspect detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. The party was found to be on probation and it was in violation of his restrictions to be consuming alcohol. Probation and parole was contacted and a probation hold was placed. The party was transported to the Lincoln County Jail and booked in a probation hold, and issued a citation for a disorderly conduct.
February 11
2:48 p.m.- Officers received a tip that a female party with a warrant was at a local medical facility within the City of Merrill. An officer responded to the location and observed the female party leaving. A traffic stop was conducted and the female was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln county jail.
