County Board candidates forum slated in Tomahawk

The League of Women Voters of the North Woods is sponsoring a public forum for Lincoln County residents and candidates for Lincoln County Board on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Buedingen Training Center, W6147 Hwy. 86, Tomahawk.
All 22 seats on the Lincoln County Board are up for election. All who have filed the necessary paperwork have been invited to attend to speak and to answer questions from the public. The forum will be moderated by Ben Meyer, Newswatch 12, WJFW-TV, and facilitated by the League of Women Voters of the Northwoods.
A list of candidates who have agreed to participate is available on the League’s website calendar at this link, http://bit.ly/1RUb2nA.
This event is a great opportunity for voters and candidates to meet, ask questions and share views.
During the forum, each candidate will be asked to make a brief two minute introduction to include who they are, why they are running for the County Board, what background they bring to help the County Board, and what they believe to be the most important issue in the County today.
After opening statements, questions from these topics will be selected by our moderator, Ben Meyer: Broadband, Shore Land Zoning, North Central Health Care Consortium, and Recreational Trails. These questions will be addressed to candidates who have opposition. All candidates will be able to answer written questions from the audience.
This is a non-partisan event, sponsored by the League of Women Voters. The League is a non-partisan organization devoted to helping members and fellow citizens develop educated political opinions and act upon them through the democratic process. For more information, visit www.lwvnow.org.
