Mary Ellen Biggs

Mary Ellen Biggs, age 60, went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at her residence in Merrill, while under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice, the caregivers at Our Way, Inc. and surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on December 22, 1955 to the late Clifford and Esther (Oestreich) Biggs in Merrill, WI. Mary was the very first graduate of the Life Task Center in Merrill – which was an amazing accomplishment.

In her younger years, Mary was an athlete in the Special Olympics, and would always do her best. She enjoyed bowling and even won some trophies. Mary had a wonderful work ethic and loved going to work every day at Lincoln Industries in Merrill. Mary was very proud of her work there and enjoyed every minute of it. She would enjoy watching the Green Bay Packers, socializing with friends and playing cards. Mary was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. She loved her family very much and was very close to her mother, Esther. She was a kind, loving, gentle soul and will be sadly missed.

Mary is survived by her sisters: Jeanne (Oscar) Wangen, Merrill, Sharon (Richard) Prentice, Merrill and Carolynn (Joseph) Hoffman, Merrill, brother: Richard (Lea Ann) Biggs, Merrill, 5 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great nieces and 8 great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clifford and Esther Biggs.

Funeral services for Mary will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. Pastor Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 9AM and continuing until the time of the service, also at the church.

Any donations made in Mary’s name are to be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.

Family wants to express special appreciation to the staff at Our Way, Lincoln Industries, Kind-Hearted Daycare and Ministry Home Care Hospice for their care and support of Mary throughout the years.
