Holy Cross Associates’ candy benefits those in need

The Holy Cross Associates once again this year sold their homemade candy creations at the Bell Tower Residence Craft Fair in Merrill, and the results once again proved successful. Associate members decided to present checks to the Prison Ministry of Sister Linda Songy, SCSC, who ministers as chaplain at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, La.
The associates also decided to support the efforts of Our Sisters’ House in Tomahawk. The house is being used as a homeless shelter and is named “Our Sisters’ House” in honor of the sisters who lived there while ministering at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk. The home provides immediate temporary housing to individuals and families.
The Holy Cross Associates hope to take part again next year at the Bell Tower Craft Fair in November. For more information on the Holy Cross Associates visit www.holycrosssisters.org or call 715-539-1460, ext. 471.
