Merrill Police Department reports

December 7
9:21 a.m.- Officers arrested a male for a probation violation and transported him to jail.
9:50 a.m.- Officers arrested a male for theft and a probation violation, after the male was reported stealing items from a store. The male was taken to the jail as a result.
3:40 p.m.- An officer investigated a theft in the 500 block of Pine Ridge Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.
5:36 p.m.- An officer investigated a theft in the 300 block of East 1st Street. This investigation is ongoing.
11:29 p.m.- Officers responded to a trespassing complaint in the 1300 block of East 10th Street. As a result, a male was arrested for a probation warrant.
December 9
8:30 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
9:56 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & parole.
8:23 p.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. He was found to have a revoked driver’s license. He was cited for operating after revocation. He was also found to be on probation and was arrested for probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
9:50 p.m.- A caller reported the theft of a bicycle. No known suspect(s) at this time.
December 10
3:20 a.m.- An officer on patrol observed a male acting suspiciously behind some closed businesses. The officer attempted contact and the man fled on foot. He was located a short time later and was found to have been drinking in violation of his probation rules. He was arrested for a probation violation and resisting an officer.
9:35 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
12:35 p.m.- A caller reported someone entered his vehicle and stole some money and his wedding band sometime within the past hour. The vehicle was locked but the windows were left ajar several inches. It is believed the suspect was able to reach inside and unlock the vehicle.
3:55 p.m.- A caller reported finding several bags of the neighbor’s trash inside the garage at the property he was doing maintenance on. The trash was confirmed to belong to the neighbor although they offered no logical explanation as to how it got into the neighbor’s garage. A female at the property was cited for illegal dumping and her husband removed the bags of trash from the garage.
4:34 p.m.- A caller reported a juvenile disturbance. It was found two juveniles got into a verbal argument over comments allegedly made on an online social media site. One of the juveniles armed himself with the knife and his cousin attempted to take the knife away from him and cut his hand in doing so. The juvenile who brandished the knife was referred to social services for criminal charges.
11:08 p.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation as well as an equipment violation. A passenger in the vehicle was found to have warrants for her arrest through the Merrill Police Dept. for unpaid traffic tickets. She was arrested for those warrants. The driver was cited for several license and registration violations.
