Kathleen Mary (Annis) Mann

Kathleen Mary (Annis) Mann, born January 20, 1946, in Merrill, to Jayne and the late Ellsworth Annis Jr., moved on to a better place on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, after a long battle with cancer and kidney disease. She attended Trinity Lutheran School, Merrill, and graduated from Merrill High in 1964. Kathy attended the Cradle School of Nursing in Evanston IL. Kathy married John Mann and later divorced.
Kathy was employed as a cook at Holy Cross Hospital kitchen, Skipper’s Restaurant, Country Way and Wausau Catering, later moving to Milwaukee continuing her passion and skill for cooking at St. Charles School for Boys until her health failed her.
Kathy returned to Merrill and began a ten year connection to a kidney dialysis machine three times a week. Kathy also battled breast cancer that returned for a third time. No matter what health trials Kathy encountered she never complained and was always cheerful and thankful for her life. Her physicians always went the extra mile for her, they admired her spirit, and wanted to give her as much time as they could.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Jayne Annis, Wausau; sisters Becky (Gary) Skrzypchak, Wausau, Rhonda (Tom) Karau, Merrill, Michele Cubba, Milwaukee, Robin (Steve) Nielson, Utah, Tammy Annis, Wausau, and Tia (Myron) Myers, Merrill; brothers, Dennis (Donna) Annis, Rhinelander, Todd (Joy) Annis Merrill, Scott (Kaye) Annis, Merrill; and Sister-in-Law Sandy Annis, Merrill; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, each and every one were very special to Aunt Kathy. Kathy is also survived by her wonderful friends at City Walk Apartments.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ellsworth (‘Beaner’) Annis, brother, Randy Annis, special friend Jim Gengler, and niece, Jacquelynn Cubba.
A memorial service for Kathy will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewart Avenue, Wausau. The Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Sunday at the church.
Burial will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
