Mary Ann Zastrow, age 75, of Merrill, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
A memorial service for Mary Ann will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. that day at church. Mary Ann’s cremated remains will be interred at Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River, Lincoln County.
Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Gust and Anna Zastrow. She had worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Company, the former House of Merrill, the former Ward Paper Mill, and Merrill Manufacturing.
It was at Weinbrenner that Mary Ann met her life-long friend, Helen Frederick. Mary Ann was hard working, enjoyed helping others, enjoyed taking trips, and was the Queen of the Red Hattitudes II. Mary Ann very much enjoyed being part of this Red Hatters group.
She was a very kind-hearted person and always helped others. She was also active with her church Trinity Lutheran Church. Her and Helen were always on the go; traveling, visiting others, and shopping. Mary Ann was very fond of her niece, Linda (Jeremy) Nass and their dog, Bernie.
Survivors include her sister, Theresa Graap of Merrill; her brother, Jerry (Susan) Zastrow of Merrill; her niece, Linda (Jeremy) Nass of Wausau; and many cousins. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Gust and Anna Zastrow; her brother-in-law, Gerald Graap; and two nephews.
