The Merrill community is warmly invited to the Journey Church open house. The party will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 3–7 pm, rain or shine. The event will include complimentary food, live music by “Open Tab” and tours of the new church home.
According to Pastor Brad Main, “We are very excited about what God is doing here, and His providing this building for us was an absolute miracle! So, we celebrate and want to invite Merrill to join the celebration. It’s our way of saying thank you!”
In addition to the open house, Journey Church is also marking its fourth anniversary in Merrill. The Main family moved to Merrill in fall, 2010 and started the church on Sept. 11, 2011.
“We met in rented quarters until God blessed us with the property at 1212 S. Center Ave. on 12-12-14! In fact, many of our people refer to the church building as simply 1212 to remember the event,” said Main.
Main added, “Hard work by our people has transformed what used to be ‘South of the Border,’ next ‘The Arena,’ then ‘1212 Sports Lounge’ into a place we can now call home for our growing church family.
“But, we kept the bar! People just have to come out and see all that we’ve done to the place,” he exclaimed.
Their mission statement is – Journey Church is a growing community dedicated to connecting people to Jesus Christ. It is their prayer that many more people will find Jesus to be the passion of their hearts.
