Flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of highway worker

Gov. Scott Walker has issued a proclamation that the United States and Wisconsin flags will be flown at half-staff on Saturday in Lincoln County in memory of Lincoln County Highway Department Employee Marcus Wydeven.
Wydeven, an employee of the Lincoln County Highway Depart1nent, died from injuries suffered in a tragic vehicle crash while working as a flagger on U.S. Highway 17 on July 14.
The proclamation states that Wydeven served his community as an employee of the Lincoln County Highway Department for almost 20 years; and, a native of Wisconsin, he leaves behind a legacy of service as a member of the Lincoln County community, and the people of Wisconsin mourn
his death.
The flags flown at half-staff will coincide with a memorial service for Wydeven on Saturday.
Lincoln County had petitioned the Office of the Governor to approve the lowering of the flags.
