Lorraine I. Voeltzke, age 84, of Merrill, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Lorraine was born May 14, 1931, in Wausau, daughter of the late Walter and Arlene Maahs. She married Clarence Voeltzke on June 14, 1952, in the Town of Maine, Marathon County. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2005. Lorraine had worked at Wire Products in Merrill. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Lorraine enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, working on puzzles, taking walks, listening to country music, and watching ‘Soaps’ on television. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, and spending time with her dog, Midas.
Survivors include her daughters, Terry (Bob) Willet of Elgin, Illinois and Debra (Wayne) Russ of Merrill; four grandchildren, Stephanie Willet of Elgin, Illinois, Amy (Scott) Fandrey of Ringle, Jeremy VanDerGeest of Merrill, and Jason (Abra) VanDerGeest of Merrill; six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Devan, McKayla, Montana, Zach, and Madison; one step-great-grandson, Collin; and one brother, Keith (Chris) Maahs, of the Town of Maine. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents, Walter and Arlene Maahs; her son, Michael Voeltzke; her brother, Sonny Maahs; and two granddaughters, Heather VanDerGeest and Michelle Willet.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Burial will take place in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., Thursday at the funeral home.
