Dennis (“Adolph”) Henrichs

Dennis (“Adolph”) Henrichs, Merrill, died Thursday, May 28, 2015, with his wife, Jean, by his side.
Dennis was born March 27, 1939, in Merrill, son of the late Archie and Adela (Luedtke) Henrichs. He married Jean Frisch on July 17, 1976. Dennis joined the Wisconsin Laborers’ Union in 1966. He was elected Business Agent of Local 1359 in 1978. In addition, he served as a delegate to the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, as well as serving on the Board of Trustees. He became Chairman of the Wisconsin Laborers’ Health Fund. He retired in 1996.
Dennis enjoyed time with his family and was fond of his cabin on Burma Road. He was a voracious reader and a passionate investor. Dennis and Jean enjoyed traveling, and upon retirement, divided their time between Homosassa, Florida and Merrill. He rarely missed a Green Bay Packer game, and was a devoted Badger, Brewer and Fighting Irish fan. He was a loving ‘Opa’ to his grandkids, and his family will remember him as a generous, kind and gentle man.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; his daughter, Betsy (Lee) Hraby of Altoona, WI; his son, Tim (Michelle) Henrichs of La Grange, IL; six grandchildren, Henry and Beau Hraby of Altoona, WI, and John, Brooke, Charles, and Ryan Henrichs of La Grange, IL; three brothers, LaVerne (Olga) Henrichs of Merrill, James (Bonnie) Henrichs of Lannon, WI, and Thomas (Jean) Henrichs of Joplin, MO; one sister-in-law, Marlene Henrichs of Merrill, and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janet Klade; and two brothers, Phillip and Kenneth Henrichs.
The family will receive friends from 10am until noon on Monday, June 1, 2015, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. A private family service will follow.
