Edgar E. Krause, age 87, of the Town of Berlin, Marathon County, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Hospice House, Wausau.
Edgar was born March 10, 1928, in the Town of Corning, son of the late John and Anna (Koehler) Krause. He married Emogene E. Zamzow on September 1, 1948. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2015. Edgar had been a Dairy Farmer in the Town of Berlin. In his younger years he was also a milk hauler. After retiring from dairy farming, Edgar raised beef cattle. Edgar enjoyed deer hunting and ‘Sunday drives’.
Survivors include his daughter, Joline (Mark) Bartelt, Merrill; his grandson, Adam Bartelt of Merrill; two great grandchildren, Daisy and Levi Bartelt; and his sister, Phyllis (LaVern) Kottke, Athens. Besides his wife, Edgar is preceded in death by an infant daughter, June Krause; and his siblings and their spouses, Silvia and Wilbert Sturm, Lorenz and Lavine Krause, Lavila and Elroy Schmidt, and Gilbert and Phyllis Krause.
The funeral will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, (‘Naugart’) Town of Berlin. The Rev. James Weiland will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
