Sherri Jean Pfaff (Stahel)

Sherri Jean Pfaff (Stahel), 49, of Merrill, WI, passed away surrounded by family on March 6, 2015, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in hospice.  She was born June 19, 1965, to Eugene and Mary Ann (Zogg) Stahel, the middle child between Steve and Sheila.  Sherri was raised on a dairy farm in Hamburg, WI.  She graduated from Merrill High School in 1983 and went to UW River Falls, where she received her Animal Science degree.  Later in life, Sherri attended UW Stevens Point and earned her second degree in Art History.
On Sept. 6, 1986, she married Scott A. Pfaff in Merrill, and they had two children, Chelsea and Andrew.  They lived in Milwaukee for a short time and ultimately ended up in Merrill.  Sherri worked 25 years for Customer One Co-op, primarily in Marathon, and was an accountant for Dietary Pros Laboratory in Wausau for the past year.
Her special talents were in her artwork, especially drawing and painting.  As a junior in high school, her drawing was selected for the city and high school’s centennial celebration and published as its logo.  As well as art and music, Sherri’s passions were fishing, especially in Boulder Junction with her family, and working in her gorgeous flower beds that decorate their yard.  She was a spokesperson for Relay for Life and assisted and played in the annual Mary Stahel Pool Tournament in honor of her mother, to raise money for cancer.  Nothing was more important to Sherri than her family, for whom she would do anything.
She belonged to Faith Lutheran Church, singing in the choir for many years.  Sherri is survived by her husband Scott Pfaff, daughter Chelsea (Troy) Powell, son Andrew Pfaff, father Eugene (Donna Otto) Stahel, grandmother Clara Stahel, 5-mo. old grandson Ronan Powell, brother Steven (Julia) Stahel, sister Sheila (Alan) Klug, in-laws Lee and Diane Pfaff, Craig (Chris) Pfaff, Tim (Dawn) Pfaff, and Jamie (Jothan) Olson, many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins, and endless friends.  Her mother and three grandparents predeceased her.
A wake will be held at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill on the evening of March 11th from 3-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be at Faith Lutheran Church, Hwy. K, Merrill, on Thursday, March 12th, at 11:00 a.m., with viewing starting at 9:00.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Hope Lodge at 411 2nd Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
