Patricia J. Morrell, 84, a resident of Newald, passed away on Saturday March 7, 2015, at Nu-Roc Community Healthcare Center in Blackwell. She was born in Newald, WI on December 13, 1930 to Paul and Adeline (Brunette) Zoellner.
Pat was raised in the Merrill area and graduated from the Merrill High School. After graduation she moved to Milwaukee where she met and married Don Morrell, on September 12, 1950. While in Milwaukee she worked at United Shoe Machinery. The couple resided in Milwaukee, Merrill, Grafton, and Sheboygan before retiring to the north woods town of Newald in 1991. Pat worked as a bakery manager, and loved cooking and baking. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading, and crafting. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Laona.
Pat is survived by her husband Don of Newald, and children: Shanon of Foshan, China, Jessica, of Portland, OR, Monica (Daryl) Ransom of Milwaukee, Kyle (Patrick) Kasabian of Plover, Mitchell (Jeanne) of Oswego, IL, and Colin (Karen) of Prosser, WA, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pat is further survived by sisters: Gene (John) Cotter, Darlene Caylor, Fern (Duane) Bacher, and Shelly Neuman all of Merrill, and Lois (Reid) Hamlin of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Katherine, brother Paul, and brother-in-law Bill Caylor.
Funeral services for Pat will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at 12:00 noon at St John’s Lutheran Church in Laona. Rev. Kyle Verage will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Newald.
