Pines blanks THS boys

The Tomahawk boys varsity hockey team closed out a 6-17 season with a 10-0 loss at Northland Pines in the opener of the WIAA playoffs last Tuesday.
“My guys played super hard but Pines had us outnumbered,” THS coach Rick Myre said. “Danny Hanke stopped over 50 shots and was real solid between the pipes for us tonight.”
SPASH, recently sixth-ranked in state, now 10th, and third-seeded in the region, stopped Pines 6-1 on Thursday. SPASH visited #2 seed and sixth-ranked Antigo – a 4-3 overtime winner over #7 Wausau East –  on Tuesday.
