THS dunks Raiders

The Hatchet boys pulled down back-to-back meets when they swam past Medford 79-58 on Thursday on the strength of nine wins in 11 events.
“It was our last home meet of the season and it was Parents’ Night as well, so it was really nice to see the stands so full with family and fans!” Kohl said. “The boys were pretty up for the meet as well, despite the fact that they have just finished a month of our longest yardage practices. The Hatchets recorded no disqualifications tonight, which have plagued us for the past couple of meets. We did have a couple of scratches in individual events due to illness and yet still came out solidly on top.”
Two THS records fell, Das Manninen’s 202 200 free mark to Nathan Goehe’s 2:01.90, and Logan Loretz lowered his week-old 50 free record from :23.37 to :23.26. Loretz won the 100 free in :53.09, just .02 off the record.
The Hatchets swept the 200 free with Goehe, Jacob Miller (2:25.92), and Lucas Tjugum (2:29.59) and the 100 back with Kole Svacinz (1:11.88), Miller (1:18.51) and Josh Wick (1:31.50). They went 1-2 in the 50 free with Loretz and Peyton Hamm (:25.51), the 100 free with Loretz and Goehe (:55.4) and the 200 IM with Svacina (2:43.540 and Tyler Larch (2:45.88).
Other wins came from Parker Knipfer  (100 fly, 1:12.37), the 200 medley (Svacina, Loretz, Knipfer, Hamm, 2:01.70) and the 400 free (Goehe, Svacina, Hamm, Loretz, 3:58.12). THS swam the last two events as exhibition.
