Another Successful Year for MFD?s ?Tree of Hope?

Friday evening, Dec. 19, members of the Merrill Fire Department, The Nite Riders Motorcycle Club and the Lincoln County Christmas Spirit Program; gathered at the Merrill Fire Station as part of the department’s annual ‘Tree of Hope’ program.
“This year’s program went very very smooth” comments department Captain Mike Drury.
“Jamie Carnes from the Lincoln County Christmas Spirit Program and her crew did a phenomenal job. The distribution of toys was very organized and well planned out. Due to this being the first year of having the program in our new fire station, there were some things we had to plan for also such as parking and traffic flow. Things went well in that aspect too, so I would say overall we had a great program this year”
According to Drury, five on-duty and 7 off-duty Firefighter/Paramedics helped distribute toys to 252 families on Friday and 653 children.
