The Northern Edge, an Antigo/Rhinelander co-op team, evened the Hatchet girls record at 1-1 with Friday’s 2-0 win.
Katie Detert netted goals in the first and third periods.
“It was a learning experience for us and a step up to the upper end of the food chain in the conference,” THS coach Greg Vallier said.
“Erin had a great game and we played a little timid at times. The goals scored were one tip-in and one batted in by our own defense with their glove.
“But there was lots of learning to do and we will work hard this week to get ready for Marshfield and the following week Medford. As always, it’s a work in process, but I believe we are on the right track.”
