Matthew C. ?Charlie? Ament

Matthew C. “Charlie” Ament, age 55, of Merrill, died accidentally on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014.  
Charlie was born Nov. 9, 1959, in Merrill, son of the late Lawrence ‘Bud’ and Shirley (Koblitz) Ament. Charlie was currently employed as a Pipe Insulator with Local 127-Asbestos Workers. He enjoyed fishing, especially for walleye and trout, golfing, playing cards, hunting, spending time in the woods with his dogs, playing guitar, and playing softball. Charlie especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. 
Survivors include two brothers, Greg (Mary) Ament, and Andrew (Jan) Ament, both of Merrill; two nieces, Carly (Nathan) Harder of Wausau, and Victoria “Tori” Ament of Merrill; four nephews, Erik Ament of Eau Claire, Todd (Hsu) Roggenbuck of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Ben (Kari Jo) DeBroux of Merrill, and Ryan (Jodi) DeBroux of Edgar; nine great nieces and nephews, Sophia, Ivan, Mason, Emma, Evan, Eli, Ellie, Isabelle, and Chloe; and his cousins, Mary Jo Laabs, Steve (Lana) Strasman, Tom (Kay) Koblitz, and Pete (Renae) Koblitz, all of Merrill, and Dan Koblitz of Virginia Beach, Virginia. 
A Memorial Service for Charlie was held Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Missy Holdorf officiated with assistance from Mary Jo Laabs.
