Broadband lunch-n-learn

UW-Extension Lincoln County invites the public to attend the Bandwidth Assessment Tool (BAT) Lunch-N-Learn to better understand the benefits of broadband (high-speed internet access) and the speed your business, residence, farm or anchor institution (government facility, medical institution, school, or library) needs to function well.
Broadband is an essential commodity for communities and businesses to thrive in the 21st century, but access to commercial-level broadband can be a challenge for businesses, schools, libraries, and residents requiring reliable broadband service.
On behalf of Wisconsin’s Public Service Commission, Jill Hietpas, Broadband Specialist for the UW-Extension Broadband and E-Commerce Education Center, will present data about the state’s broadband efforts, map current broadband access in the area, and enable you to learn and access the Bandwidth Assessment Tool to identify current or future bandwidth requirements to compete in a global market.
The Lunch-N-Learn will be held Dec. 9, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the T.B. Scott Library Community Room, 106 W. 1st St., Merrill.
RSVP by Dec. 2 by contacting Art Lersch at the UW-Extension Lincoln County office (715-539-1072) or [email protected].
Lunch will be provided and you are encouraged to bring your own device (computer or tablet) to explore the LinkWISCONSIN Maps and to fill out the BAT. Eight laptops will be available for use for those who do not have a laptop or tablet computer.
