THS tops T-Birds

A 100-70 triumph at Lakeland gave the Tomahawk swimmers a perfect record in GNC duals for the season.
“Many personal bests were achieved in our first-ever win in the Lakeland pool.” THS coach Theresa L’Esperance said. “I tried not to be nervous, but not until we went 1-2 in the back(stroke) did I realize we were about to set school history. Traditionally, we have not performed well in the Lakeland pool, but last night, we were determined to change the course.
“We won all three relays, and our ‘B’s  took two third-place finishes. That is the key. Heading down the stretch to the conference championship, the team with the strongest ‘B’ relays usually pulls out the win.”
Lauren Hilt set a new school record in the 200 free with a 2:01.68. Also setting personal records were: Rachel Dallman (2); Jackie Elliott (2); Kirstin Marcks (2); Morgan Weber; Annaluz Fox; Natalie Olson; Dakota Cole; Emily Zurfluh.
The Hatchets went 1-2 in the 50 free (Weber, :25.56/Baylee Dallman, :27.49); 100 free (Hilt, :54.86/Weber, :56.99), and 100 back (R. Dallman, 1:07.04/Katherine Russell, 1:07.95).
They won 7-of-11 varsity events, including the: 200 free (Hilt); 200 medley (Russel, Michaela Galganski, Weber, R. Dallman, 1:59.85); 200 free (Weber, Mikhayla Kleich, B. Dallman, Hilt, 1:44.62; and 400 free (B. Dallman, Kleich, R. Dallman, Hilt, 3:52.93).
Other runner-up finishes came from: R. Dallman (200 IM, 2:30.03); Karli Cecil (100 fly, 1:08.37); 500 free (Klecih, 5:54.86); and 100 brea (Marcks, 1:19.25).
