Patrick M. Szulczewski, age 63, of Merrill, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 after living with ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease) for many years.
Patrick was born Nov. 1, 1950 in Wisconsin Rapids to Joseph and Janet (Krubsack) Szulczewski. He married Julie H. Burns on Feb. 22, 1975 in Nekoosa.
Patrick was a retired Army Veteran, amateur radio enthusiast, loved to tell jokes and to hear them from others. He enjoyed anything to do with electronics, also loved to play musical instruments, pool, cribbage and boating on the Wisconsin River years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; eight siblings: David Szulczewski, of Nekoosa, Daniel Szulczewski, of Merrill, Jennie (Greg) Ferkey, Wisconsin Rapids, Jeanne (Robert) Cole, Wisconsin Rapids, Cynthia (John) Peckham, Nekoosa, Donna (Damon) Klinger, Wisconsin Rapids, Jerry (Lynn) Szulczewski, Omro, and Sara (Gareld) Morris, Wisconsin Rapids; brother-in-law, Clark (Nilah McDonald) Topper of Scituate, MA; sister-in-law, Brenda Szulczewski, Wisconsin Rapids; all his special nephews, nieces, cousins, two aunts, many wonderful friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Richard; and sister-in-law, Kathy Szulczewski.
In keeping with Patrick’s wishes, there will be a memorial gathering at a future date, to celebrate his life, for family, friends and neighbors. There will be no funeral services. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
