MAPS board members to hold community listening sessions

As part of the district’s strategic planning process and in order to provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions, offer ideas and share their concerns, board members of the Merrill Area Public Schools will be holding two annual upcoming listening sessions on Oct. 6, 2014 and March 23, 2015.
“Regular board meetings are very formal and too often do not allow community members to raise concerns or ask questions,” said Jen Seliger, president of the school board. “These informal listening sessions will be open to all members of the community and will allow for questions to be answered and concerns addressed in a more direct and open way.”
Both community listening sessions will take place in the Merrill High School Library at 1201 N. Sales St. in Merrill from 7-8:30 p.m.
A complete schedule of board meetings can be found on the district’s website, www.maps.k12.wi.us.
