Grace Lorene Hofmann, 89, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.
Grace was born on April 8, 1925 in Merrill to Victor C. & Mary Rose (Federspeil) Steffeck. She was a graduate of Merrill High School. On Dec. 5, 1946, Grace married Kenneth C. Hofmann.
She enjoyed reading, watching mystery movies and spending time with her family.
Grace is survived by her husband, Kenneth; four daughters and one son, all of Merrill: Lorene Hofmann, Rita (Ken) Woller, Ann Hofmann, Nancy Walsh and Randal Hofmann. She is further survived by eight grandchildren: Judy (Richard) Ryan, Linda (Louie) VanGroll, Paul (Pam) Schotz, Peter (Heather) Schotz, Lisa (Jeff) Brown, Wayne (Deb) Woller, Amy Woller and Jacob Walsh; 16 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Casey; her sister, Rosemary Wiesneski; and three brothers: Victor, Lawrence and Norman Steffeck.
A Memorial Mass was held Friday, Aug. 22, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Merrill with Father Michael McLain officiating. A gathering of family & friends was held following Mass.
