Sex offender to be released

The Merrill Police Department is informing the public that a sex offender is set to be released from prison and placed on supervision in Lincoln County.
Jesse Brackett, 32, was convicted in 1997 of 1st degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement. He sexually assaulted a 5-year-old male acquaintance and a 6-year-old female acquaintance.
Brackett is scheduled to be released from prison Aug. 12. He will be released back to Lincoln County, which was his county of residence at the time of his conviction. He is to be released to Community Supervision and supervised by agents from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office in Merrill. He will be on supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections until Dec. 8, 2018.
Upon release, Brackett will be placed on the Intensive Supervision Program and will be subject to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Global Positioning System (GIS). He will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life. The Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry can be located at www.widocoffenders.org.
