Molly McEwen

Lucille “Molly” McEwen, 84, Kimberly, passed away on July 19, 2014 at her home, with her children at her side. Molly was 1 of 16 children, born in a log cabin to Art and Dorothy Burrow on October 1, 1929 in Irma Wisconsin. Molly married Robert Joseph McEwen on October 14, 1950 and together they have five children and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild arriving soon. Molly was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed the simple things in life: the outdoors, biking, walking, bird watching, swinging on her porch and playing with her grandchildren. She always said she had more miles on her bicycle than her car.
Molly has touched more people in her life than we will ever know. She was lifelong member of Peace United Methodist Church, an active member of Church Women United and United Methodist Women, a Sunday School teacher, and active member on many church committees.  She worked as a teachers’ aide at West Side Elementary School. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary serving as chaplain for many years and Legion’s Badger Girls program. She was on the Board of Directors at Round House Manor in Kaukauna and a founding member of the Community Clothes Closet, continuing to volunteer until the time of her death. She also enjoyed attending the Church of the Pines in Minocqua.
Molly will be sadly missed by: children Thomas (Mary Ellen) McEwen, Patricia McEwen Kiel, Barb (Al VanderWielen) McEwen, Joseph (Leah De La Hunt) McEwen, Robert (Patricia) McEwen, seven grandchildren Robert J Kiel, Katherine J Kiel, Lynn (Alex) VanderWielen, Beth (Josh) VanderWielen, Colleen McEwen, Jordan De La Hunt, and Molly De La Hunt.  Her brothers: John, Sam, Bill, Tom, and Ronnie, and sisters: Totsy, Gerry, Barb, Honey, and Sally, her special friend Orlie as well as many other relatives, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Art and Dorothy, her brothers: Buddy, Nibby and Joe; sisters: Sister and Jackie.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Peace United Methodist Church, 2300 Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna with Rev. Lucretia Fehrmann officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. For more information and to express online condolences, please visit the online guestbook at www.wichmannfargo.com.
